Kathy,
I was deeply saddened to learn this morning about Matt's passing. When we reconnected (however too briefly a few years ago) and I was fortunate to meet Matt, it was immediately clear he was a very remarkable person. His passing is a loss for us all. May his short life be a reminder to all who were touched by his presence of the power of a sincere smile and caring heart. My heartfelt condolences to Erin, Marla, you and all your family.

Dear Bill, Kathy, Marla and Erin,

How saddened we were to hear that Matt had lost his battle. We will always remember the many happy years that Matt & Lauren were in school together, even through their college years. Lauren and Matt remained close friends during those college years and she would call and email home about him often. Our family and church have been praying for Matt and will continue to hold you close to our hearts in the hope that you will find God's peace and comfort.

We know that God in His infinite wisdom has a plan for us all.
