Erin, Bill & Kathy,
I believe God must have needed an expert gardener, a person who always cared so much for others, and just an all-around great guy to do his work in Heaven. I also believe that God works on His time, and as hard as it is to not question why He would allow someone so young to join Him, I know that the three of you, your entire family and Matt's closest friends have the spiritual faith to guide you all through this. It probably doesn't make it any easier, but it at least makes it possible.
Matt brought so much to Southwestern, and his earning of the Brown Scholarship, Southwestern top scholarship, even before he was a student, let us know very early who he was and what he would bring. Matt enriched all who came in contact with him, and we are all better for having had the opportunity to know him.
Most of all, one's life should be marked by it's quality and not by it's length. No one had more quality than Matt! May God's blessing lift you on Eagle's wings and be with you in the days ahead and forever!

To the Boeer family,
From the short period I've known Matt from work, I've always felt there was something about him that was special.
I still remembered the weekend he ran into Erin. He was so happy about having caught up with her again after high school, and with the engagement soon after, you knew it was love.
Matt has always rubbed everyone in a good way. He has a way about him that was sincere, comfortable, and natural. You always felt good around him.
