Dearest Wally and all of your family,
I still cannot believe that Eddie could possibly have passed away. He was such a presence in my life from the time I was born, and I will miss him very much. I think of him as a cousin who was always so sweet to me, and I still remember how much my feet hurt in high heels when I was in your wedding. I was so honored to be asked to be a bridesmaid when I was in high school, and I have admired your marriage ever since. I have held him and all of your family in the highest esteem for the values that you have always represented. I would imagine that his children learned from birth the importance of honesty, faith, family, love, commitment, hard work, and fun. No doubt the first word he taught his children and grandchildren was "Aggie". May all of you carry his love and values in your hearts, and his goodness will live on for generations to come.
With love always, Linda Denison

Dear Wally and family: Ed and I became friends in 1947 when we enrolled in A&M. We roomed together for three years, until I graduated. In all these years, I never knew him to hurt any one in any way. He was an honest men, and one of the highest integrity. Even though we didn't visit much, I thought of him many times. We did correspond by e-mail. In case I can't attend the services, we send our sincerest condolences.
May God bless each of you.

We are so sad that we will no longer be seeing Mr. Duckworth walking in the neighborhood and talking about the Aggies with him! He will be greatly missed; he was such a gentleman!
